Summary: In 1930, Mahatma Gandhi led a group of Indians on a march for the right to make and use their own salt, against the law of the British colony at the time. Gandhi's act of civil disobedience was the beginning of an anti-colonial, nationalist movement around a basic issue of livelihood. Seventy-seven years later, the filmmakers follow the trail of the Dandi Salt March in search of Gandhi's legacy, and explore issues of livelihood in modern, globalizing India.
