Sons and lovers (first published 1913) -- Women in love (first published 1921) -- Love among the haystacks (first published 1930) -- Lady Chatterley's lover (first published in this complete and unabridged text, 1960).
GENERAL & LITERARY FICTION. Sons and Lovers was Lawrence's first important novel and examines the emotional conflict in ambitious young painter Paul Morel as he struggles to escape from his Nottinghamshire mining background and is caught between intense devotion to his mother and a newly-
aroused passion for his two dissimilar women.
Women in Love is considered by Lawrence himself to be his best novel. This story deals with the loves of two sisters, Gudrun and Ursula, and charts a course of tempestuous passions descending, inevitably, into tragedy.
Love Among the Haystacks is a short but powerful tale of rivalry between two brothers whose emotional confusion finds resolution one summer night after the Nottingham harvest.
Lady Chatterley's Lover is perhaps the most notorious novel ever written.
